Andrea Andreani was a printmaker from Mantua, Italy. He was known for his Chiaroscuro woodcuts after prominent artists, such as Titian and Mantegna. He is known for re cutting the Blocks of Printmakers such as Ugo de Carpi and adding his initials to make the compositions his.
Many of his wood engravings are endowed with the names of his wealthy patrons from Mantua. A tribute to their patronage.
