Darcy Doyle (1932-2001)

Painter and bushman, was born in Ipswich, Qld. Self-taught, he became a full-time artist in 1961 after leaving the navy. A good draughtman and an experienced bushman, he became known for his sentimental paintings of Australian rural life, often featuring stereotypical old time shearers, drovers, farmers or small rural communities.
