Emile Frederick Victor Ulm

It is uncertain when draftsman, engraver and lithographer Emile moved to Australia.  He is Listed as being married in Adelaide in 1884 to Mathilde Bourband (Another French native) , apparently it was both their second marriage. It is very likely that Emile Snr. lived and worked in Sydney for a period of time in the 1880s.

Emile senior had a son named after him, Emile.  Emile Jnr. was also an artist who lived on 35 Prince St Mosman with his Australian wife Ada. The family had three sons, notably Charles Ulm, who became the first Australian Aviator along with Charles Kingsford Smith to cross the Pacific Ocean in the famed ‘Southern Cross’
