James Ranalph Jackson

Died: 1975

Known for his expansive views of Sydney Harbour, Jackson moved to Australia in 1894.

He studied at the RAS, the NGV School, and in Paris and London. He was a founding member of the Australian Academy and a member of the Australian Art Association. During his life he also supplemented his painters income by teaching at the RAS, from 1917-1926.

Jackson won many awards for his painting during his life time.

His works now reside in many State regional Galleries in Australia and New Zealand.
