Joseph Christian (J C) Goodhart (printmaker)
Goodhart was a window dresser at John Martin’s in Adelaide. Then in 1896 at Boan Bros, Broken Hill, before starting up his own shop. A chance visit from John Goodchild helped his studies and his first press was made in a fitting shop. He began creating etchings of his surroundings in Adelaide and Broken Hill. In 1929, two of his etching were accepted into the Paris Salon. He was a member of the Australian Painter-Etcher Society and the South Australian Society of The Arts.
