Robert Emerson Curtis
Robert Emerson Curtis (1898-1996)
Curtis was an official war artist during the final year of WW2. The Australian War memorial holds more than 200 of his works. Along with his good friend Max Dupain, Curtis was captivated by the scale of construction that was occurring on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. He went on to publish three books documenting the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.
